2020 Hospital Medical Officer (HMO) General Medicine PGY2+ / BPT1

Ballarat Health Services is offering a number of HMO positions in the PGY2+ medical rotations stream. Successful applicants will complete rotations from a mix of the following terms: Emergency Medicine, ICU, Oncology, Neurology, Cardiology, Sub Acute and Relief.

BPT1 positions at Ballarat Health Services are designed for applicants enrolling to complete Basic Physician Training. To be eligible to apply for these positions, applicants register for the Royal Australian College of Physicians.

Applicants rotate through five specialty rotations of ten weeks, which include a core medial rotation in General Medicine, two subspecialty rotations in oncology and neurology, a medical relief term as well as a subspecialty rotation to Barwon as a secondee.

Successful candidates will be asked for their rotation preferences following appointment, and rotations will be finalised November/December 2019.

Ballarat Health Services comprises of the Base Hospital (221 beds), Queen Elizabeth Centre (sub-acute care – 70 beds) and Psychiatric Services (67 beds). Ballarat Health Services is a major training site for the University of Melbourne and Deakin Rural Clinical Schools.
