Ballarat Health Services (BHS) operates the Ballarat Base Hospital, the largest regional hospital in the Grampians region. It is the principal referral hospital for the entire region, which extends from Bacchus Marsh to the South Australian border, an area of 48,000 square kilometres. Ballarat Health Services provides a complex range of surgical, medical, obstetric, psychiatric, palliative care, rehabilitation and residential services.

Ballarat Health Services is the Auspice for both the State-Wide Equipment Program (SWEP) and safety Link commercial divisions.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Primary and Community Care, this position provides business and operational support and leadership to both the Safety Link and SWEP teams, ensuring close liaison with relevant funding bodies and requires an understanding of the auspice relationships with Ballarat Health Services, the Department of Health and Human Services, the National Disability Insurance Agency, their relevant guidelines and the contractual obligations of delivery and financial accountability.

Primary responsibilities involve the monitoring of resource requirements, allocation of funding for specific programs, responsibility for program accountability, achieving agreed key performance indicators including financial and budgetary obligations, development of marketing strategies, oversight of recruitment, training and competencies of staff, creating an environment in which all team members are committed to a high standard of equitable and readily accessible service delivery and the advancement of commercial (financial) sustainability in general.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications and Experience

  • A relevant qualification and/or demonstrated experience in management/ business development is essential. Experience at a senior level would be highly regarded.
