Permanent Part Time position
60.8 hours per fortnight
Ballarat Health Services, East Grampians Health Services and Maryborough District Health Service have collaborated to host a Regional Clinical Midwife Consultant for the Grampians region, which extends from Bacchus Marsh to the South Australian border, an area of 48,000 square kilometres. More than 230,000 people, or 4.4 per cent of the population of Victoria, live in the Grampians Region.
The mission for this exciting new role is to play a major part in facilitating the delivery of quality maternity and newborn care to the communities we serve by enhancing safe and accessible maternity and newborn services within the capability and capacity of each health service.
The successful candidate must be a registered nurse and registered midwife with at least 5 years experience. You will have dedicated time spent at each health service, fostering engagement across the sector and promotion of safe and sustainable maternity and newborn care.
Your ability to travel the region means you do not need to reside in Ballarat.
This is an exciting opportunity to expand your knowledge of maternity and newborn care in multiple settings, empower staff to work across the scope of midwifery practice, play an integral part in the quality and safety aspect of maternity and newborn care in regional settings, influence future planning of maternity and newborn care and build relationships across the Grampians region.
You will have an indirect reporting line to the Director of Midwifery at Ballarat Health Services and access to salary packaging as well as a hospital car for travel around the region via a booking system.
When applying, please specifically address each of the key selection criteria located in the position description as part of your cover letter. Interviews will be conducted on line with a panel including representatives from Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough.
