About the role
Cafs Residential Care units house children and young people aged 12-17, although there may be younger children from time to time. The units are staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year, with stand up, on call and recall shifts. The unit is the young person’s home and therefore must be safe, homely, comfortable and consistent in its care and approach. The role of Casual Youth Care Workers is to assist in the Residential Care Unit on a day to day basis, providing day to day care to the young people living in the house and to contribute to casework tasks for the child or young person. The Casual Youth Care Workers plays a key role as the caregivers in the house under a trauma informed lens.
Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care) OR working towards this qualification upon commencement in the role.
Current First Aid and CPR Certificates (Level 2)
You’re a passionate individual who can work in a small team, independently as well as contribute to the wider CAFS team. Your approach is adaptable depending on who you are working with and you enjoy building relationships to achieve the better outcomes for your clients. You enjoy developing care plans and working therapeutically with your clients and working collaboratively with all stakeholders, taking a collective approach to team work and case management.
